One more week until the fantasy playoffs! Let’s be honest, if your’e reading this you’re probably already in the playoffs or in the hunt and you need/want a win this week for playoff positioning. If you’re not reading this, you’re likely not in the playoffs because you probably didn’t read my Waiver Wire column weekly this year and you deserve to lose! Ahhh…that felt a little like therapy. Anyways, let’s all try to get that last win this week and below are some players who may be able to help you do just that.

Quarterback
I have previously featured Colin Kaepernick and if he is still available in your league, he needs to be the top quarterback target for Week 13.
Matt Barkley, Chicago Bears. Matt Barkley struggled early on this week, but he turned it on in garbage time against Tennessee as he threw for over 300 yards with three touchdowns. He could have had a fourth score if not for a dreaded, drop late in the game and looks like he may be able to at least keep the Bears afloat the rest of the season. Look, I’m not necessarily sold on the guy, but he plays the 49ers, Lions, Packers and Redskins in the weeks ahead and that in itself, gives him a slight edge compared to the guys listed below. The Bears should be playing from behind plenty, which should keep his value decent as well.
Other Quarterbacks to Consider: Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams. Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs. Trevor Siemian, Denver Broncos.
Running Back
Kenneth Dixon, Baltimore Ravens. Kenneth Dixon finally out-snapped and out-touched Terrance West in the Ravens Week 12 game against the Bengals. Yes, it was only by one touch, but it’s a promising sign that the Ravens finally recognize he has more talent that West. He’s much better in the passing game, so he is a bit more valuable in PPR leagues, but with an increase in touches and a decent schedule going forward, Dixon could be a decent flex play down the stretch.
Dion Lewis, New England Patriots. While not a great game this week, Dion Lewis had six carries for 24 yards and four catches for another 37 yards in the Pats divisional game against the hated Jets. He had ten touches compared to only four for James White so it’s a promising step forward in his second game played this season. White still had more targets than Lewis, so he isn’t going to go away quietly, but in a PPR league, I would consider adding Lewis and seeing if his touches increase even more next week.
Other Running Backs to Consider: Rex Burkhead, Cincinnati Bengals. Kapri Bibbs, Denver Broncos. Bilal Powell, New York Jets.
Wide Receiver
Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs. With Jeremy Maclin battling a nagging groin injury, Tyreek Hill has assumed a huge role in the Chiefs’ offense. Hill has now scored double digit points in five of his last six contests, averaged almost eight targets a game in his last five and is an overall, fun player to watch. He has done well enough that even when Maclin returns, Hill should still be ahead of him as far as targets and productivity. A game against the Atlanta Falcons next week is also attractive for teams who need a win in their last regular season game in order to make the playoffs.
Taylor Gabriel, Atlanta Falcons. It’s hard to look at the last month and not recognize how good Falcons’ receiver, Taylor Gabriel has been. He has scored double digit fantasy points in four consecutive weeks and that was topped off with a four catch for 75 yards and two touchdown performance against the Cardinals this week. He is an electric guy to watch and gives the Falcons a second element to their passing game beyond Julio Jones. There are two things that slightly concern me, however. First is he’s only 165 pounds so I am concerned about him taking one good hit and being knocked out of the game. Secondly, he hasn’t had over five targets in each of the last four games, so while he has produced with what’s thrown his way, he’s been very touchdown dependent as he’s found pay dirt four times in the last four games. That being said, I still love his upside and he is definitely worth a roster spot and flex consideration in twelve team leagues.
Other Wide Receivers to Consider: Malcolm Mitchell, New England Patriots. Marqise Lee, Jacksonville Jaguars. Adam Thielen, Minnesota Vikings. Dontrelle Inman, San Diego Chargers. Anquan Boldin, Detroit Lions. Quincy Enunwa, New York Jets.
Tight End
Vernon Davis, Washington Redskins. Jordan Reed suffered a Grade 3 AC joint separation in the Redskins’ Week 12 matchup against the Cowboys and it looks like he could miss some time going forward. Vernon Davis performed admirably when Reed missed time with his concussion earlier in the season as he scored at least 13 fantasy points (PPR) in both of those games and since then, has done well even with Reed in the lineup. If Reed misses an extended amount of time, Davis could greatly help a fantasy team who is struggling at the position, and that makes him my top target at tight end this week.
Other Tight Ends to Consider: Dwayne Allen, Indianapolis Colts. Jermaine Gresham, Arizona Cardinals. Ladarius Green, Pittsburgh Steelers. Vance McDonald, San Francisco 49ers.
